Engagement Advisor (Full-time)
Help strengthen the connection between Waipā Networks and the communities we serve.
Do you enjoy building relationships, working with community groups, and bringing programmes and events to life? As our new Engagement Advisor, you’ll support the delivery of Waipā Networks’ community engagement activities, sponsorships and outreach programmes across the Waipā district and surrounding areas.
Working as part of our Customer and Community team, you’ll help build strong connections with customers, community organisations and stakeholders, ensuring our programmes reflect the needs and priorities of the communities we serve. It’s a varied role where you’ll see the impact of your work through meaningful partnerships, community initiatives and positive local outcomes.

What the role involves
This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll support the planning and delivery of engagement activities that strengthen relationships and raise awareness of Waipā Networks.
You’ll:
Support the delivery of community engagement programmes, education initiatives and outreach activities
Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, customers and stakeholders
Coordinate and support sponsorship partnerships and related activities
Assist with the planning and delivery of community events and engagement initiatives
Gather feedback and insights from community interactions to support continuous improvement
Work with the Communications team to promote engagement activities and community programmes
Support digital communication platforms such as social media, website and internal channels
Coordinate logistics, administration and reporting for engagement programmes and events
Help ensure sponsorships and community initiatives are delivered effectively and aligned with organisational objectives.
About you
You’re someone who enjoys connecting with people and supporting activities that make a difference in the community. You’re organised, proactive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities while maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably at diploma or bachelor's degree level, in communications, marketing, public relations, business or a related field
At least three years’ experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement, communications or a similar role
Experience coordinating events, programmes or community initiatives
Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Excellent organisation and coordination skills, with strong attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple activities and priorities at once
Confidence communicating with community groups and customers
A genuine interest in supporting local communities and building meaningful partnerships.
